The Prairie Village Jazz Committee would like to thank everyone who came out on September 11, for our first Jazz Festival. Between 10-12 thousand people joined us for an incredible day of Jazz and some of the best weather of the year. Harmon Park was packed and we are looking forward to finding ways to accommodate even larger crowds next year.
For those who were there, we thank you for making the festival such an outstanding success. It would not have been the same without YOU! We also would like to thank our sponsors, vendors, and volunteers for the excellent contributions they made in making 2010 the first successful Jazz Festival in Prairie Village, Kansas. We could not have done it without them.
We can't go without expressing our gratitude to our incredible performers - Killer Strayhorn, Sons of Brasil with Stan Kessler, David Basse and Orchestra 2010, the Eldar Djangirov Trio, and the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra with Miguel "Mambo" DeLeon and Karrin Alyson. Your music was astounding.
We are already working on preparations for the 2nd Jazz Festival in 2011. We look forward to seeing you on September 10, 2011 and we invite you to bring your friends and family for what promises to be another fantastic day of music and fun, in one of the nicest cities in the metro.
